Trish Causey's VOICES ON THE WIND is a play in two acts set on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Pine Ridge Indian Reservation,
home of the Oglala LakotaPine Ridge Indian Reservation is located in the southweastern corner of South Dakota. Created as Pine Ridge Agency to coral the Lakota and secure the western plains for American expansion, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is now a dichotomy of a People rich in culture and tradition plagued with the worst economic, education, and health statistics in the United States.

VOICES ON THE WIND explores the Lakota's struggle to maintain their culture while trying to overcome the devastation of western influences like alcohol and drugs.

  • MEAGHAN - a white filmmaker hired to make a documentary about the Lakota
  • BOBBY - Alex's brother and "non-Traditional" who thinks the Lakota's future lies in big business and creating jobs
  • GRANDPA DAN - Lakota elder and mentor to ALEX and BOBBY who hired MEAGHAN
